Role: Design Director
Someone experienced and independent enough to come into the role of Design Director and run with it. Attitude and temperament are crucial, with a willingness to challenge themselves and others around them. We have a talented team who will look to them for their thoughtful and inspiring guidance and ambitious global clients who want to be impressed and inspired by the quality of our work and our thinking. They will be working closely with other company members from around the world, and beyond the design team, including strategists, insights specialists, and partners, so they will need to be fluent in ‘brand’ and able to hold their own in strategy conversations.
We need someone brilliant at concept development, be a whiz with user-centred design and visual system development, and most of all they will need to be a source of problem-solving and brilliant ideas that can initiate projects, keep them on track, and ultimately bring them to life in a meaningful and impactful way.
Naturally, a special talent for design and the ability to craft world-class visual identities is a must, but also the need to be comfortable with the day-to-day requirements of managing and communicating with team members. Being cognisant of team health, moral and well-being is crucial; whilst managing the regular client interactions, meetings and conversations that come with large scale brand projects.

YOUR DAY TO DAY
Manage design teams across multiple client engagements, driving high quality deliverables across the globe
Work in partnership with Strategic and Account teams to understand and manage client needs
Ability to define and implement innovative solutions for digital direction, visuals and experiences
Participate in the business development process, including working on pitches and presentations to prospective clients and developing proposals
Build deep client relationships across projects
Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
Work with vendors and outside specialty resources
Manage deliverables, timelines, and budgets of all engagements
Provide leadership for project teams, infusing a superior design aesthetic into the work
Manage and cultivate the professional development of staff members
Contribute to studio culture, inspire others
What We Look For
8 + years’ experience, and at least 2 years’ working directly with clients
Advanced in Adobe Creative Suite
Proficiency in Sketch, Invision, and similar design and prototyping tools
BFA/BS/BA in Graphic Design or equivalent experience
Experience working with design systems
Experience managing teams with diverse design backgrounds
Long term client relationship development experience
Should be comfortable with travel necessary in a client service business
Solid verbal and written presentation skills
Strong creative problem-solving skills
Successfully manages time, process, and workflow
