Head of Finance

Stuff Digital is seeking an accomplished finance professional to lead and manage its financial operations, ensuring the organisation remains at the forefront of digital media transformation. This is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including reporting, accounting & tax, compliance, transactional processing, and budgeting.

As part of the Stuff Digital Leadership Team, the Head of Finance will provide strategic financial insight, drive automation and innovation, and ensure robust financial controls are in place. The ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for leveraging technology to streamline and enhance financial processes. The candidate will need to demonstrate an appetite to fulfil a hands on and demanding role.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, including tax compliance.
• Implement automation tools to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
• Strengthen internal controls, using AI-driven compliance tracking tools to manage reporting requirements.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, consolidating reports and leveraging automation to improve efficiency.
• Deliver data-driven insights in all executive reports, supporting strategic decision-making.
• Develop a standard suite of automated reports to enhance operational and financial oversight.
• Champion the adoption of innovative finance technologies, including AI analytics and cloud-based solutions.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs and enhance financial support across the organisation.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, ensuring clear performance expectations and regular appraisals.
• Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment across the Stuff Group.
• Take accountability for personal and professional development, encouraging a strong and effective team culture.
  
  

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CA qualification preferred.
• Extensive experience in financial leadership within the media industry.
• Strong understanding of digital finance transformation, AI and automation tools, and ERP systems.
• Proven ability to drive efficiency through technology in financial operations.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with excellent stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Proactive and forward-thinking in identifying financial opportunities and challenges.
• Detail-oriented and highly organised, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Adaptable in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
• A strong advocate for digital transformation and continuous improvement.
