The Job Holder will be responsible for managing the execution, direction, and coordination of journey, transport activities within the organization. To provide the overall Transportation objectives of the Company, ranging from basic International Transportation Management to express freight forwarding, warehousing and also managing Supply Chain issues. To ensure both internal Key Performance Indicators & client targets are met in the most cost effective and efficient manner.

JOB CONTENT (Key tasks / activities)

  • Set Transport operations policies and standards, including determination of safety procedures for the handling of dangerous goods.
  • Responsible for the budget, business plan and target of transportation.
  • Negotiate and authorize contracts with truck suppliers and monitor contract fulfillment.
  • Initiate cost efficiency measures in transportation operations Review policy daily Transportation tasking requests on a Daily basis to ensure all tasking's are within company Maintain and manage all databases relating to transportation activities.
  • Plans journeys in accordance with Journey Management planning criteria.
  • Plans and organizes the routing of deliveries and collections to meet the required business and customer requirements while ensuring compliance with transport policies & procedures.
  • Monitors and maintains accurate documentation and records and effectively utilizes these data by managing jobs-per-vehicle.
  • Review trip allowances for drivers and ensure that employees are working efficiently.
  • Report maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles, list organize & Schedule Fleet vehicle maintenance, checkup of vehicles and organize Vehicle Safety Stickers & registration.
  • Oversee and participate in the maintenance of Driver Qualification Files, DOT Log Files and Vehicle Condition Reports for all CSRs and equipment.
  • Negotiate and authorize contracts with truck suppliers and monitor contract fulfillment.
  • Ensure implementation day-to-day activities of transportation.
  • Supervise, organize and review the work of lower-level staff.
  • Any other work assigned by the Line Manager as and when required on ad hoc basis.


  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in transportation management, in supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in transportation software and databases.
  • Valid driver's license and familiarity with Omani transportation regulations (preferred).
  • Experience in the logistics and supply chain industry (preferred).
