Senior Electrical Engineer

Description: The Senior Engineer- Electrical is a key member of the Electrical Design Unit. The jobholder has a thorough understanding and experience in the electrical design field and provide technical leadership, oversight and interdisciplinary coordination on electrical design projects. Key Accountabilities: Provide technical subject matter expertise to project team members during all stages of design delivery in coordination with Unit Managers and Project Managers Provide technical subject matters expertise to clients during proposal stage and in client meetings during design delivery Assist in the distribution of the team members’ work load to ensure progress is as scheduled Support, review and provide expert input on project data collection to the project team Refine selected design options into schematic and draft final designs, including all required drawings and reports Closely work with project teams for reviewing design deliverables of design projects, including conducting detailed reviews and checks and the issuance of reports Liaise with other departments/units to ensure a proper design coordination Verify that applicable codes and engineering standard practices are being met Closely work with Project Managers for the review and validation of design deliverables with clients and authorities, capturing feedback and obtaining approvals Oversee junior-level staff in the preparation of calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and presentations Prepare reports documenting all findings, conclusions and recommendations resulting from the analysis Support business development activities including opportunity identification, qualification, bid/proposal development, pricing, on-site demonstrations and customer training Support Project Managers in managing external suppliers and subcontracts and in ensuring the adherence of their deliverables with the project scope, schedule and budget Provide support to Project Managers in developing periodic progress reports Support Project Managers with the management of client relations and expectations, as needed Support Project Managers in client presentations and workshops Conduct QA/QC on design deliverables Support in conducting close-out activities and derive lessons learned Provide assistance in conducting training sessions Represent SETS at the key industry events and conferences Skills, Experience and Competencies Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or any related field is preferred Skills Strong knowledge of the industry standard computer software for the position including AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, Ecodial, ETAP Knowledge in Primavera and planning software is a plus Understanding of international engineering standards and codes Proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic; French is a plus Experience 8+ years of industry experience in the area of infrastructure and MEP building design services such as: indoor/outdoor lighting (including tunnel lighting), MV/LV distribution networks, emergency power/UPS, telecom networks and low current systems
